Wool Tartan Gilet

The Honourable house tartan makes its debut with our classic Gilet to produce this special, limited piece. Every great house has a tartan; to make ours we worked with the best tartan mill in Scotland - Lochcarron. Lochcarron traces its heritage to 1892 when it began weaving Scottish wool into tartans for clans, estates, and fashion houses around the world. 

Our tartan represents everything we love about links golf. The green and navy of the grass and sea; the sand from the bunkers; the flowering gorse announcing trouble ahead. The oxblood red is a nod to the University of Edinburgh tartan, as well as common national colors of the United States and Canada, which represents the founding of the brand. 

This gilet compromises on neither style nor function - the striking Lochcarron tartan offers protection from the elements, the corduroy is both warm and a bit stretchy for performance across the back. We added wonderful slashing pockets across the front to catch all manner of tees, tools, and other paraphernalia. Add to that a small ball pocket and larger breast pocket, plus a scorecard pocket on the back, and you will not be short of storage options.

In designing this piece, we took inspiration from the fantastic waist coats of the late 19th century. We find the rounder collar and soft shoulders offer a striking bit of modern style.
